What’s your ecological footprint?

I think this test is just more Earth Day bullshit, but I’ll post it anyway:

CATEGORY ACRES
FOOD 5.4
MOBILITY 2.2
SHELTER 6.2
GOODS/SERVICES 7.7
TOTAL FOOTPRINT 22
IN COMPARISON, THE AVERAGE ECOLOGICAL FOOTPRINT IN YOUR COUNTRY IS 24 ACRES PER PERSON.

WORLDWIDE, THERE EXIST 4.5 BIOLOGICALLY PRODUCTIVE ACRES PER PERSON.

IF EVERYONE LIVED LIKE YOU, WE WOULD NEED 4.8 PLANETS.

I just love the admonishing “like you” part. I guess it’s supposed to make me feel bad, like some morbidly fat person downing a footlong meatball sandwich in front of an Ethiopian sanctuary. Then there are the wonderful globes, just to ram the point home.

$%&!*%# greedy Americans.

Take the test to find out your so-called “footprint.”

One Response to What’s your ecological footprint?

  1. Adam Morris says:

Besides making you feel bad, it also makes you realize that you’re really at the top of the food chain.

We don’t have four extra planets to spare. That means that the rest of the population is eating far far less than the you are.

Man, I see these people everyday. They certainly aren’t starving.
